So after trying Media Link, and having it simply not play any of my songs, or even come close, I decided to try out Rivet, from Cynical Peak Software. It works like a charm. It does require iTunes to be running, but so what. It also doesn't do shuffling so you end up listening to everything in order.
For most people, that's a non-issue. For me, it's a bit annoying, since I'm a Zeppelin freakboy, and therefore have like 7 versions of "Dazed & Confused"...live. So a shuffle feature in the future would be cool.
In any event, Rivet's small, cheap, ($18.95), and it works. So good job Erik & crew, you just got another customer. (Or two, or three maybe. I know people with PS3's )

I know this will be scary for some of you, especially Notes fans. However, open standards, rah-rah.
If you want to use less-than or greater-than signs, or other similar characters that HTML reserves,
you'll simply have to learn to do it the HTML way. Luckily, HTML is kind of popular, no matter what
your re-educators have told you, and you can easily find help on the intertubes.
