It's bad enough that with Facebook buying Friendfeed, all the NMD's are squee-ing about ala "FriendFeed fanatic Scoble, who loves the service the way a tween girl loves Robert Pattinson of “Twilight.”"...
But now High Lord Pratsworth Van Douchebag himself, Dave Winer is...of course...whining about it. Why? Because Scoble didn't get some of the cheese in the deal. Why should Scoble have gotten this? Well, in Pratsworth's own words:
All the effort he poured into FriendFeed is for naught. They sold to Facebook. In the announcements, no mention of the users, and certainly no mention of Scoble. Now would have been the time for them to tip him, throw him a few thousand. Or if not money, how about at least a hat-tip -- an acknowledgement of the help they received from users, esp Robert Scoble. Nothing. They didn't even give him the first interview.
For fuck's sake...(wait, let me just show you the title of Winer's post: "Scoble, your blog still loves you". Yeah, the entire post is nothing but maudlin entitletard sobbing in your tea-towel bullshit because NOBODY LOVES US. All that's missing is for Dave to listen to Linkin Park and get the Emo 'do.)...ANYway...Scoble has been, voluntarily, since it's inception, giving Friendfeed the most sustained rusty trombone in the history of the anus, and now, someone else is bitching that he didn't even get warned about the tex-mex nuclear chili that had been eaten the night before.
But that's the blogtard mentality. "If I help you, you better fucking help me back." Fuck that shit. There's a few companies I try, and have tried to help in different ways. Not because I expected them to give me crap, but because at the end of the day, if they fixed a problem, improved a product, became a success, my life got easier. It's not altruistic, not in the true sense, but I had a very clear idea of what I was going to get out of the relationship from the start, and that's why I started it.
Fucking hell...if you want money out of a relationship, do the contract and be honest about it. Not this passive-aggressive blogger bullshit that Pratsworth espouses.
