I need a taser that shoots razorwire...

Okay, first of all, when someone calls their site "i drank the kool-aid clutching my dixie cup of apple goodness", you know two things:

  1. They're a MacMac

  2. They don't know a fucking thing about Jonestown. It was Flavor-Aid you idiot.
Not that I discourage MacMacs from drinking Uncle Jim's special Grape with a hint of almond mix. But let's get it right.

So, the New Media Douchebag MacMac in charge of this infected zit on the ass of the internet, Dee Dee Warren, is all butthurt. (Aside: How the fuck can you go through life named Dee Dee. Even worse if it's not your real name and it's what you call yourself. Dee Dee is a name for someone...who thinks Dee Dee is a good name. Fuck, circular logic works here. That's how fucked up calling yourself Dee Dee is, you make circular logic work.)

Why is Dee Dee ButtHurt? Well, let's check out her "post", UPDATED!!! IDG (company that holds MacWorld) are blatantly price gouging. Yeah, price-gouging. Now why would Dee Dee say this?

Is it because a Platinum Pass costs almost two grand?

<hongkongphooey>Nooooo!</hongkongphooey>

Is it because even just a User's Conference pass is still $250-$350?

<hongkongphooey>Nooooo!</hongkongphooey>

Is it because Dee Dee thought that she'd not be in the same room as Steve during the keynote, and therefore Macworld was RUINED FOR HER???

<hongkongphooey>Hmmm....COULD FUCKING BE!</hongkongphooey>

Not just here. Dee Dee cried about it on the Macworld Community Ning site. And multiple times in the AppleInsider Forums. Dee Dee even wrote a long, OMGBUTTHURT email to Paul Kent, containing such gems as:

I am writing to express my concern about IDG's sudden and unexplainable change in policy that only Platinum Pass holders, press (which is limited), and VIPs can see the KeyNote live. Everyone else MUST go to an overflow room. This is ridiculous and is causing many first-timers, such as myself, to consider canceling their plans. I am coming from quite a distance with my husband and have already expended 4K for those plans.

MY BUTT IS HURTY! IF I CAN'T BE IN THE ROOM WITH STEVE, MY LIFE SUCKS! I CAN'T SAY "SPENT" BECAUSE I'M TRYING TO SOUND LIKE I'M THE MOST SMARTEST BY USING WORDS LIKE "EXPENDED"
In the past, if you got in line early enough, even us "lowlies" had at least a CHANCE of getting in the main hall with the knowledge that we MIGHT have to go to overflow. Now we are told (and people have confirmed this with IDG) that there is no chance at all for anyone else to get in. From what I understand the answer was given, then "let them buy $1800 tickets." This is akin to "let them eat cake," the community feels, quite frankly, screwed and that IDG is engaging in price-gouging.

Yes. Because not going to a keynote is the same as starving and being told to fuck off by the absolute monarch of your country. Only if you're a complete fucking idiot.
If IDG thinks they are going to sell more Plat Passes this way, they are sorely mistaken. Even if they sell a few more, everyone else who would have bought the $200 pass will now simply buy the $25 one, or not go at all, which is something I have to consider even though everything is already painstakingly planned and very eagerly awaited. My disappointment cannot be expressed deeply enough.

It is times like this I thank fucking Cthulu that morons like her never venture near the fucking IT conference. My ignorance of MacMacs like her is fucking bliss. Getting a rimjob from Catherine Zeta Jones-level bliss.
From my understandings of discussions that have already taken place with IDG representatives, it appears that IDG is simply ignorant of the Mac community, as odd as that might sound. Being in an overflow room and seeing it real-time is NOT the same as having a chance to be there. IDG apparently has no idea of the devotion of Apple fans to at least have one chance to get to see Steve work his magic live IN PERSON and take pictures for their various blogs. Even though IDG doesn't consider blogs as press (unfortunately anachronistic IMHO), a lot of these blogs are part of the livelihood of the owners, but don't generate enough to warrant a $1,800.00 fee. I say this because again, the answers given so far have been ignorant and cold to the community.

Based on Dee Dee's crying, I'd say IDG's opinion on blogs is too high.
I would really like to discuss this with you. I am a writer at several Apple oriented blogs and am starting a podcast. I am also the owner of a forum that gets millions of hits a month that has a vocal Mac base. I really think this whole thing is going to be a public relations nightmare for IDG, and unfortunately, for Apple as well since most people mistakenly think that this is run by Apple. I have also written Apple just so that you know (as I am cc'ing them on this email - though I doubt Steve gets these emails, later today I am going to forward them all to the public relations department). I will write a letter to the editor of the local newspaper since the businesses in the area that count on revenue from this event might suffer if less people come or the people who do come are pissed off. This year Apple has made some slip-ups, and this is just going to make them look greedy - and IDG will be directly responsible for that. I don't know what kind of agreement you guys have with Apple, but my understanding is that they attend at their pleasure, and can pull out at any time (obviously not after they have committed for this year - but who's to say about next year) just as they did with the East Coast Conference. After all, they have the WWDC.

Ah, the ultimate New Media Douchebag Scobleian gambit: YOU BETTER DO WHAT I SAY OR I'LL WRITE MEAN THINGS ABOUT YOU! I HAVE A BLOG! I HAVE A PODCAST! PEOPLE LISTEN TO ME!
I may be wrong, but I think there is going to be a tremendous backlash in blogs and podcasts and in MUGs (Mac User Groups) over this. Those who are in the elite clique will likely not say a word, but obviously they are few, and the first-timer unwashed masses feel screwed over. I am hoping that those who have been before and had the opportunity will stand behind those of us who haven't.

I am so fucking delusional that I think I really matter.

Yeah Dee Dee...see, you were wrong. Why? Because it was a web site error.

See, that's why blogs aren't journalism. Instead of emailing Paul and saying "Dude, is this correct?", Dee Dee hears third-hand accounts, (and I'm being generous), and then, (in her delusional world where people give a fuck about her opinion), drops the nuclear option by emailing Paul, Steve Jobs, et al, this pile of whining fecal spray.

Oh, of course, now she's saying "See, it was an error, it's the way it's always been." Is she going to apologize for saying it was price-gouging et al?

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH!

Of-fucking-COURSE NOT. Go shake your head if you really thought someone like Dee Dee would apologize. In her world, she's probably taking credit for "fixing the problem". Hell, they're bitching that SIX THOUSAND SEATS PLUS OVERFLOW ISN'T ENOUGH. They want it held in fucking Candlestick, (or whatever the hell it's called now).

Get fucking real. MacMacs bitch that they have to walk two blocks from a fucking hotel, and they want the keynote held like two miles away? Yeah, like that wouldn't set off a firestorm. Oh wait, of course, they'd expect buses. FOR THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE.

People wonder why I'm a misanthrope? Because people like Dee Dee exist in my world.

You know, the fact that Paul and the rest of the IDG Macworld staff aren't doing pure heroin, and stabbing people at random is an example of just how strong they really are. Because if I got the numbers of emails from such self-centered shitheads like Dee Dee that Paul got? Flames and ruin baby, flames and ruin.
