Isn't he even a LITTLE afraid there's a hell?

So now John McCain is calling Carter a lousy president?

Well, if you mean horrible at playing politics and selling your credibility to any group with 30 pieces of silver, and being against GI Bill improvments because they "encourage people to get out of the military" and that's terribly inconvenient when you're trying to wage a permanent war with no actual definable end...

Yes.

By John McCain '08's definition, Carter was in fact a horrible president.

But when you know, late in the night that you long ago sold your integrity and your soul for one final shot at glory, and your entire campaign is based around "NOTHING'S WRONG, IT'S ALL FINE, FOUR MORE YEARS!", well, I imagine that the legacy that Carter keeps creating is intimidating, and the shadow he casts is long indeed.

The only problem with Carter is that unlike all the goobers that claim the moral high ground with great vehemence and volume, he actually has it, through quiet work and deed. So every time a pretender to the high moral ground like dubya thinks he's hoodwinked people into buying it, he looks up, and there's Jimmy.

You call him names all you want McCain. Maybe even the stoops will believe you. But those who actually study history know that after your complete abandonment of any principles save "Get My Ass In The Chair", you're not worthy to carry Carter's dirty socks.
