Congratulations Mike!

Mike Silverman that is, who, along with his partner Dave, are going to get legally married on June 17th in Cali. While I've never met Dave, (at least I'm not sure I have), I've known Mike for a while now, via his work on Timbuktu, and that odd "Macworld/WWDC friendship" I've started with so many others.

But, knowing Mike, I'm positive Dave's a great guy, and I'm thrilled for them both. As Mike said in his post:

Marriage is the end goal. More specifically, it is the the legal license. You see, Dave and I already have been married for over nine years. Our ceremony, back in 1999, was our wedding, in front of family, friends, and God. What we were going to do in California is getting the legal license to match the reality of our lives. It is an important step; we are citizens of America, after all, and government recognition of our union is important for all kinds of reasons most people never think about.
I completely agree, and I hope that one day, both they, Melissa and I, and other couples will be trying to explain to our children and grandchildren just how we managed to survive as a country, in spite of being so fucking stupid.

No, I don't think Mike and Dave's wedding will "threaten" mine, don't be stupid.
