Ah, the sweet rationality of OUR fundamentalism

Because as we've been told, Christian fundamentalism is so rational compared to the Islamic kind. Oh, just in case it comes up... It's curious how when Phelps was just ranting against gays and other marginalized groups, the reaction from the Christian fundamentalist community at large was "tsk, tsk, that's so crude". It was only after Phelps and clan targeted people the fundies approve of, (read: Soldiers), that the reaction suddenly became OMG, WE MUST STOP HIM! Evidently, hating homosexuals and advocating their destruction is okay, but hatin' on the troops is just wrong. I wonder how that works.

Excuse me if I am skeptical that you were even aware of any religious person's reactions to Phelp's bullshit during his "only bashing gays period".

It must be frustrating living with such a distorted vision of reality and religion. Here's hoping that your sight clears up a bit, if you ever become open minded.

Why yes Daedric, I was. It was, pretty much without fail, some mild disgust at his words, and the reminder that "He doesn't represent all of us."

There was nothing even close to the reaction you get today from him pulling the exact same shit at military funerals. Where were the local churches rising up to counter-protest him prior to the military funeral thing? Where were the "freedom riders"?

Funny how christians prior to the military thing were content to shake their heads and mutter when it was just fags he was fuckin' with.
